Hi my name is William. I was born and raised in HK.
I am a toy manufacturer. I’m a nerd. I like to collect Ironman figures and I play a lot of TV games when I have the chance. My passion has always been my work.
When I was 21, my father passed away from cancer. I then had to take over the family business and work in China by myself where I saw a lot of cruelty and evil in the world. I used to think making money is the most important thing in life in order to provide for my family and protect them from harm. My company was growing faster and faster, but I never really feel peaceful, the more I get in material the more worries and empty I get.
I studied in a catholic high school, used to say prayers every day, I took religious studies for the public exams. I know a lot of the “stories” from the Bible but it was more like a fiction to me that was trying to tell people to be nice.
Last year, I met my primary schoolmate who said he found peace by following Jesus and letting Him guide his life, I followed him to church to see if I can find peace too. This was the 3rd time someone had asked me to go to church.
After a few months of going to the services, this friend suggested that I should go to Alpha to find out if I could really accept Jesus as my God. I was hoping to find out the true meaning of having a God in my life. I studied computer science and so I felt that I need a lot of proof to be able to believe that there is a God.
At Alpha, everyone was very friendly. Their hospitality and friendliness kept me coming back from China every week.
The evidence and cross examination of the Bible opened my mind. In fact, there are more evidence that Jesus was real than all those doubts that he wasn’t. Moreover I personally met all these faithful believers around me who are not insane or crazy and so I started believing Jesus must be real.
I realized God never gave up on bringing me to know him.He is now finally my God in life and I have found peace in Him.
